Blog re-write topic:
Could I live without Digital and Communication Technologies?
Technology has had an enormous impact on our lives today. Due to it being such a prominent aspect of our daily routines it is difficult to wonder what life without it would be like. The rapid developments in digital technologies have significantly affected the way humans "communicate, work, learn and spend [their] leisure time" (Healey, 2011). Digital media offers people the abilities to actively participate in new forms of communications at a rapid pace (Healey, 2011). The YouTube clip below illustrates how far digital media has transformed within the 21st century (World Economic Forum, 2016).

When I personally reflect on the question, “Could I live without Digital and Communication Technologies?” I automatically respond to think– yes, of course, I could, humanity lived and survived without digital media for hundreds of years, what is stopping me from being able to do so? However, I believe a more valid question would be “would I want to live without digital technology?” – then absolutely not. To think that without digital technology I wouldn’t communicate with my family living overseas leaves me feeling isolated and heartbroken.
Technology has had an colossal effect on people’s lives as it has opened up new forms of communication, job prospects as well as unfortunately ending other avenues of employment due to the reduction of manual labour. All of which has invited change into the world and a transition into the modern era regardless if people welcome or reject it.
A quote that resonated with me while research my blog was written by a blogger, Umair Haque “one can hardly escape [technology]” (2017). We cannot avoid change or technology. So we might as well take the opportunity to learn and embrace both of them together.

Previous blog post:
Technology is extremely influential in our lives. Living in a world where digital technology is such a large part of our lives makes it difficult to wonder what our life would be like without it. As suggested by Healey the rapid development in digital technologies has hugely impacted in the ways we "communicate, work, learn and spend our leisure time" (Healey, 2011). The use of digital media has given u the ability to actively access and participate in new forms of communication in contemporary society (Healey, 2011). The YouTube clip below illustrates how far digital media has transformed within the 21st century (World Economic Forum, 2016).

When the question asks "can we live without digital and communication technologies?", of course, we can society functioned for centuries without it. However, if we pose the question "would our lives be different without digital and communication technologies?" - Absolutely.
From a communications perspective, the use of digital technology has completely transformed the way people communicate with one another. The use of digital technologies has meant people are able to keep up-to-date with the lives of people all over the world. for me personally the use of digital technology has allowed me to be able to talk to my family living overseas in an instantaneous way. I believe that given how far the digital age has come it would be highly difficult or almost impossible to live without it.
To explore an education angle I think is it important to focus on how technology is important in the classroom. The use of technology has transformed education because it enables teachers to communicate and collaborate with other teachers via the use of social media, forums and blogs. Teachers are able to engage in different ideas and viewpoints which aim to enhances the learning experiences of students. An example of a great blog is Ms Cassidy’s Classroom Blog that shares the classroom activities that she and her class complete, ranging in all subjects.
